Delete in the app
- Open Jiak and select Profile.
- Open Settings using the cog icon.
- Select Delete account and confirm the permanent deletion.
This action cannot be undone. Jiak removes your application data and stored photos, deletes the Clerk authentication account and signs you out.
Request deletion by email
Email privacy@jiak.app with the subject Jiak account deletion request.
Write from the email address connected to your Jiak account and include your Jiak username if you have one. Do not send your password, identity documents or unrelated sensitive information unless Jiak specifically explains why additional verification is necessary.
What is deleted
- your Jiak authentication account and profile details;
- check-ins, ratings, notes, dishes, costs and visit details;
- uploaded private diary photos;
- private Snapshots, collections and saved collection places; and
- private place labels associated with your account.
Restaurant information supplied independently by Google Places is not itself your account data, but links between your account and selected places are removed with your Jiak records.
Verification and timing
Jiak may ask you to verify control of the account before acting on an emailed request. Once verified, Jiak will begin the deletion process promptly and respond within the period required by applicable data-protection law, normally within one month for a UK erasure request.
If private photo storage is temporarily unavailable, Jiak retains the affected database records and retries or asks you to retry. This protects against deleting the record while leaving an untracked photo object behind.
What may remain temporarily
Limited residual information may remain for a short period in protected backups, security records, processor deletion cycles or records required for legal and dispute-handling purposes. It is not used for ordinary Jiak product features and is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
For more detail, read the retention section of Jiak’s privacy notice.
