1. Who operates Jiak

2. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using Jiak, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use Jiak.
3. Eligibility and children
This draft does not set a minimum user age. If you are under 18, review these terms with a parent or guardian before using Jiak. Your ability to enter a binding agreement may depend on your age and the law where you live.
Before launch, Jiak must finalise its intended audience and any age-assurance or parental-consent measures. These terms do not override protections given to children by law.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell Jiak promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.
5. The service
Jiak is a private personal food diary. It lets you record restaurant visits, ratings, notes, dishes, photos, costs and related details, and organise them into private collections, labels and Snapshots. Jiak V1 does not provide a public feed, public profile or outbound sharing.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of content you add to Jiak. You give the operator a limited permission to host, store, process, reproduce and display that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve Jiak, comply with law and handle support requests.
You must have the right to upload your content. Do not upload content that unlawfully infringes another person’s privacy, intellectual property or other rights.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Jiak, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, evade security controls, introduce malicious code, scrape the service, or use it in a way that is unlawful or harms another person. Jiak may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users or legal rights.
8. Third-party services
Jiak relies on services including Clerk, Supabase, Railway, Google Places, PostHog, Sentry and the Apple and Google app platforms. Their availability and some aspects of their processing are governed by their own terms. Restaurant information may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate; verify important details directly with the venue.
9. Changes and availability
Jiak is an early-stage service and may change, experience interruptions or discontinue features. Reasonable care will be taken when operating the service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not promised. Material changes affecting your rights will be communicated where required.
10. Ending your use
You may stop using Jiak and delete your account at any time. See the account-deletion instructions. Jiak may suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary for security, unlawful use, serious breach of these terms or discontinuation of the service, subject to applicable law.
11. Jiak’s materials
The Jiak name, interface, software, artwork and other materials supplied with the service belong to the operator or their licensors. These terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of those materials.
12. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights and remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to those protections, Jiak is provided for personal diary use. It does not provide restaurant, dietary, allergy, medical, financial or professional advice. You remain responsible for checking food, allergy, price, opening-hours and venue information before relying on it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and courts available under the law where you live.
